PROF. EMELE MENTORS EXCHANGE STUDENT FROM IOWA UNIVERSITY USA

A Professor of Medical Microbiology of the Faculty of Medicine Okofia Campus Nnewi, Prof. F. E. Emele was at the office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, in the company of an exchange graduate student from the University of IOWA, USA,

According to Prof. Emele the graduate student by name Mr. Sean O’ Malley from the Centre of Emerging Infectious Diseases (CEID), University of IOWA, USA, came to carry out a research on Biochrobial, resistance: that is, drug resistance to bacteria.

Also, he said, Mr. Sean O’ Malley has spent five (5) weeks in the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research (NAIMR) working under his supervision. The Medical Microbiologist said the exchange programme was the first and if it works out, it would continue.

While expressing his satisfaction, Mr. O’ Malley said he is happy at the hospitality he has got since his stay, and the people he has met so far are wonderful and if given the opportunity again he would come back because Nigerians are good people with good food too.
