WELCOME TO FACULTY OF Education

The Faculty of Education is committed to learning as a collaborative process, the faculty nurtures excellence via its numerous courses offered in the following departments: Adult Education , Business Education , Early Childhood & Primary Education , Education Management & Policy Educational Foundations Guidance & Counselling , Human Kinetics & Health Education , Library and Information Science , Science Education , Vocational Education  and provides a world-leading research environment for educationists from all walks of life. Various programmes are available in various departments such as Bachelor Degree(Regular), Continuing Education Programme, Sandwich, Post Graduate Diploma, Master\\\'s Degree(MSc/MA/M.Ed) and Doctorate(Ph.D).

Vision Statement

The vision of the faculty is to promote students understanding of their lecturers and the recognition of what their professional skills can do in changing their behaviour.

 Mission Statement

The mission of the faculty is to use teaching and research to resolve societal issues and solve problems. in the conduct of teaching  and research , as much as possible, current technologies, methodologies and resources will be used to address the problems confronting education in Nigeria and the world in general. The mission also includes creating an enabling environment that will encourage students to express their views on academic and campus life issues.

 (ii) Objectives of the Faculty

  • Produce students with disciplined mind

  • Create responsible and respectful students that respect self and constituted authority
  • Produce students who would shun examination malpractice and indecent dressing and cultism.
  • Produce students who would be problem solvers and not problem creators.
  • Produce students who would develop creative skills for creative society.
  • Produce students who would reason logically and communicate clearly in speech and writing with confidence.
  • Raise a generation of creative and innovative students who would contribute towards national development and integration.
  • Develop and foster entrepreneurial skills and self confidence in our students.
  • Provide courses of instruction and other facilities for the pursuit of teaching and learning in all areas for our students.

 (iii)       Admission Requirements:

(a)        Admission through University Matriculation Examination. Candidates should possess five “O” level credits, including English Language obtained in not more than two sittings.   For Science Education, Vocational Education and Economics Education, the five credits must include Mathematics, the other options require at least a pass in mathematics.

(b)        Direct Entry:

In addition to the UME requirements candidates should possess at least two “A” level passes in the relevant subjects.  A pass at the merit level in a relevant diploma may be accepted for science education.  Passes in at least two major subjects in the NCE is also acceptable for direct entry admission
